Karate Equipment And Martial Arts Equipment That Takes Your Training To the Next Level

Whether you’re a Sensei, a Karate student, or a parent of child who is practicing Karate, quality Karate equipment and martial arts supplies is vital for long term training success. With the right martial arts equipment, you can be assured that your learning and training in Karate will not be restricted due to improper training tools.

Freestanding Bags for Martial Arts

A freestanding heavy bag such as the Century Wavemaster is an excellent training tool for developing your Karate strikes. You can perform Kata’s all day long, but unless you strike an object, your punches and kicks will never develop to its full potential. Unlike a regular boxing heavy bag that hangs from a ceiling, the Wavemasters are freestanding and can be used just about anywhere. They’re filled either with sand or water, and come in many sizes. There’s also a freestanding bag that resembles a person (the BOB: Body Opponent Bag).

Other martial arts training equipment that can help you develop your strikes are kicking shields, punch mitts, blockers, and re-breakable boards. Keep in mind that these martial arts equipment require a partner in order to train with them. A freestanding bag such as the Wavemaster, or a multi unit striking station such as the FocusMaster G-1000 or G-4000 allows you to train on your own.

Flexibility Equipment

Another aspect of Karate and all forms of martial arts training is flexibility. You might have seen ads in martial arts magazine about stretching machines, such as the Versaflex.

Although the Versaflex does work, you do not require a heavy duty stretching machine to achieve flexibility for Karate or martial arts. The quickest way to gain flexibity is to learn from the flexibility experts, such as Tom Kurz, author of “Stretching Scientifically: A Guide to Flexibility Training”, and Pavel Tsatsouline, author of “Relax into Stretch”.

(Interestingly enough, if you take a look at one of the testimonials, one of them is from Bill “Superfoot” Wallace, the poster boy for the stretching machine Versaflex!)
