Don’t Buy A Black Belt Home Study Course Until You Read Every Word On This Page!
As with any form of education, whether it is a fitness certification, college education, or even martial arts education, there’s always the option of studying at home to earn your credentials. With a black belt home study course for martial arts, you’re guaranteed to get a black belt certification once you complete and pass their course. However, obtaining a black belt through a home study course is very different compared to earning one in the Dojo.
Can You Learn Karate Moves At Home?
You can “learn” the martial arts lessons at home, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll be performing the moves correctly even though you’ve followed the instructions in the karate video training tapes. Unlike karate training in the dojo, you don’t have your sensei watching over you to correct your techniques. With repetitive practice of improper techniques, you’ll be building a bad habit of poor martial arts moves. This will not help you if you’re planning on teaching other people a few basic karate moves.
Overall, if you’re looking to earn a black belt, don’t fall for those home study courses. Martial arts training such as karate are a kinesthetic activity and require an instructor to ensure that you’re performing the techniques properly and that you understand the fundamental principals. Unless you plan on supplementing your current training (at a dojo) with martial arts videos, then a home study course to become a black belt is not recommended.
You wouldn’t want a doctor who obtained their qualifications from a home study program to perform a surgery on you, right?
