Free Karate Training: Try Before You Buy

Before joining a martial arts school, what you should do is sample their introductory karate programs to get a taste of what the school is like, and whether it is for you. Many schools offer free karate training for first timers. This can be just a few complimentary trial classes, where they stick you into the basic classes so you can learn a few karate moves and perform some karate training drills and see what it’s like, and sometimes martial arts schools have an introductory program.

A karate introductory program is designed specifically for new individuals who are interested in joining the martial arts school. The program generally takes you through the schools’ martial arts philosophy, what to expect from your karate training, and goes over some karate moves. There may be a test at the end of the program, and at the graduation of the introductory program, some schools give out a white belt, indicating that you’ve passed the introductory program. Although some schools offer the introductory sessions at no cost, some programs will have a modest fee for the trial lessons. If you’re serious about martial arts training, this is well worth the money. And often times you will receive a karate uniform along with the introductory classes.

Whether the initial martial arts lessons are free or not, karate training is hard work and an introductory program can determine if karate is right for you.
