Make Your Own Karate Uniform: Is it Worth It?
As a child grows up, they’ll outgrow their shoes, clothing, and karate uniforms. You might have the idea of saving some extra cash by deciding to make your own karate uniform for your child. Although in the end, you may save money, it is not worth it to create a karate gi because of its special construction, and the time you will waste to make it.
A karate gi is designed for physical activity. There are various types of materials that can be used to make a karate uniform, however, with the type of stitching used to ensure that the uniform does not come apart, and the design of the gi, it is very difficult to make a gi on your own.
Also, the time involved to construct the uniform so that it perfectly resembles a traditional karate gi is simply not worth it. With uniforms costing anywhere from $30 and up, you can spend your time doing more worthwhile activities in your life than trying to make a karate gi.
In the end, although from a cash perspective it may cost less to make a uniform, but when you factor in the time and materials involved, a new karate gi is a bargain.
