Plus Size Karate Uniforms

Plus size karate uniforms are generally hard to find when you’re shopping around for a gi. In Japan, the average person is smaller than the typical European or North American, and it’s easy to see why larger karate uniforms are not widely available. Upon special request for certain shops, you can find a uniform that is designed for the larger individual.

The largest size karate gi that is usually advertised is a size 7. A size 8 and size 9 karate gi are suited for those who exceed the dimensions of a height of 6’8” and a weight of 240lbs. A relatively unknown company by the name of Oddessy makes a karate gi for plus size karate practitioners. Their uniforms are made in the USA, and come in sizes up to 12! (And even larger uniforms are available if requested). The fabric is 10-12 ounce, and the uniforms come in either black or white.
